Literal Translation

Maia and the Old World

The ballad remembers an Erodas where nature, magic, the diwata, and the land existed in sacred harmony. Human greed for gold destroys that balance, and Maia's death becomes the spiritual rupture that ends the old magical age.

Bulkang Kulam and Amazonian Gold

At Maia's final breath, Bulkang Kulam erupts and the earth shifts. Gold moves eastward into Amazon, becoming sacred residue from a broken age rather than ordinary mineral wealth.

The later struggle over Amazonian Gold, including the War of Golds, repeats the resource violence mourned by the ballad.

The Fading of Magic

Magic does not disappear after Maia's death, but becomes rarer, feared, regulated, and misunderstood. The diwata of Evloz are recast by humans as witches, turning the surviving keepers of old magic into objects of suspicion.

Prophecy and Interpretation

Starkus and Markulah interpret the prophecy through conquest, gender, bloodline, and personal ambition. The ballad instead defines restoration through pure love: Bianca is the Huling Bulaklak, while Jack is the Dakilang Mandirigma whose greatness lies in protection and peace rather than domination.

Prophetic Fulfillment

The final stanza is fulfilled during the Battle of Erodas in 112 AR. As Jack lies dying, Mylenah stops time and Bianca's confession and kiss complete the Divine Moment.

The prophecy does not return Erodas to its lost past. It gives the realm a chance to begin again through truth, memory, love, and the dismantling of systems built on greed.

Legacy

The Ballad of Maia connects the death of Maia, the eruption of Kulam, Amazonian Gold, the grief of Evloz, the rise of kingdoms, and the restoration achieved by Bianca and Jack. It remains one of the central mythological texts of Erodas.
