Overview
Maia is the Great Diwata and goddess-like figure of Erodas, closely associated with Evloz, Bulkang Kulam, ancient magic, the fall of the diwata, and the prophecy of the Huling Bulaklak and Dakilang Mandirigma.
Maia of Evloz
Maia is known as the Dakilang Diwata of Evloz. During the Aevum Magica, or Age of Magic, Evloz was a land of gold, pure magic, diwata, and ancient spells.
Under Maia, Evloz was considered the richest region in Erodas. Its wealth did not come only from gold, but also from the sacred magic that flowed through the land and its people.
Maia's death marks the end of the old magical world.
Age of Magic
Before the establishment of the Year of the Kings in 1 AR, Erodas lived through the magical era known as Aevum Magica.
Around 1500 AM, Evloz was at the height of its power. It was a sacred and prosperous region where diwata lived with nature, gold was abundant, and magic shaped the land.
Maia stood at the center of this age as its greatest divine figure.
The Great War
In 1590 AM, the Great War erupted between humans and diwata. The war destroyed the balance between ordinary human strength and the sacred magic of Evloz.
During this war, Maia died. Her death caused Bulkang Kulam to erupt, turning Evloz into ash and ruin.
The eruption also shook the land so violently that the gold of Evloz moved eastward toward what would become the gold-rich jungle of Amazon.
Bulkang Kulam
Bulkang Kulam is the volcano located near the tri-border of Amazon, Arcos, and the Evloz Protectorate. It belongs to Evloz, the mysterious mountain region in southeastern Erodas.
The volcano erupted when Maia died. This event became one of the most important disasters in the ancient history of Erodas.
After the eruption, Bulkang Kulam became dormant. In the modern era, it is believed to be filled with dark magic because of the many witches and magical forces surrounding Evloz.
Fall of the Diwata
Before Maia's death, the diwata of Evloz were considered sacred beings and allies of nature. After the Great War and the eruption of Kulam, humans began to fear them.
The once-holy diwata were later branded as mangkukulam, or witches.
This change became one of the great tragedies of Evloz: the sacred became feared, and magic became associated with danger instead of harmony.
Witches' Council
In 3 AR, with the help of Arcos, the Witches' Council was established. Arcos was the only kingdom that helped Evloz recover after the fall of the magical age.
Because of this, the friendship between Evloz and Arcos became sacred and long-lasting.
The Witches' Council became the oldest council in modern Erodas, led by descendants of the ancient Evlozians.
Descendants
Maia's bloodline continued through her descendants. One of the most important descendants of Maia is Queen Maius, the beautiful Evlozian fae who later married King Antonius Starkus of Arcos.
Maius is described as the last descendant of the Great Diwata Maia. Her bloodline becomes central to the prophecy and eventually passes to Bianca.
Through Maius and Bianca, Maia's sacred line survives into the modern era.
Prophecy
The Witches' Council believed that the union of the Huling Bulaklak and the Dakilang Mandirigma would restore Evloz and return balance to Erodas.
This belief led the council to arrange the marriage between Maius and King Starkus after Starkus was hailed as the Great Warrior King.
However, the prophecy was misunderstood. It was not fulfilled through Starkus' ambition, bloodline obsession, or royal power. It was fulfilled through Bianca and Jack / Logan during the Divine Moment.
Prophetic Verse
The prophecy connected to Maia warns against false interpretations of power:
This verse explains that the true savior of Erodas will not be found in throne, gold, bloodline, or rage. The prophecy will be fulfilled only when worlds collide, time stops, and the Last Flower of the Diwata embraces the Great Warrior.
Legacy
Maia's death shaped the entire history of Erodas. It caused the fall of Evloz, the eruption of Bulkang Kulam, the movement of gold into Amazon, the rise of fear against witches, and the birth of the prophecy that would later define Bianca and Logan.
Her legacy survives through Evlozian magic, the Witches' Council, Queen Maius, Bianca, the Ballad of Maia, Bulkang Kulam, and the prophecy of the Last Flower and Great Warrior.
Maia is not only a figure of the past. Her death and prophecy continue to move the fate of Erodas.
Symbolism
Maia symbolizes the lost sacred world of Erodas. She represents the time before greed, war, and bloodline politics corrupted the realm.
Her death symbolizes the end of pure magic, while her bloodline symbolizes the possibility of restoration.
Through Bianca, Maia's legacy returns not as domination or royal conquest, but as love.
