The Great War erupted in 1590 AM during the Aevum Magica, when the balance between human ambition and the sacred magic of Evloz collapsed.
The conflict is remembered as the ancient war between humans and diwata that broke the old magical world of Erodas.
Death of Maia
During the war, Maia, the Great Diwata of Evloz, died. Her death caused Bulkang Kulam to erupt, turning Evloz into ash and ruin.
The disaster became one of the foundational wounds of Erodas and the spiritual center of the Ballad of Maia.
Aftermath
After Maia's death, magic began to fade and the sacred diwata of Evloz were gradually feared and branded as witches.
The eruption also shook the land, driving gold eastward toward Amazon. This ancient displacement of wealth later shaped the political conflicts that culminated in the War of Golds.
